For neighbors working to make ends meet, getting to a food bank during the week can be hard. For some, it’s not possible at all.

Starting Sept. 19, Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center will hold Saturday drive-thru food-sharing events on the first and third Saturday of each month.

The Saturday program is fast and easy to use; all guests will check in with a volunteer and a healthy food box will be placed in their vehicle. This grab-and-go format keeps the line moving quickly.

Anyone who lives in the food bank’s service area, living between Mayer and the Loop 101 and between Interstate 17 to Rio Verde, can take part. (a map and complete zip code list can be found at FoothillsFoodBank.com)
