Foothills Food Bank & Resource Center

Shred & Recycle Day
Saturday, January 31, 2026
8:30am – 11:30am

On the Foothills Food Bank campus – 4250 E. Carefree Hwy. Cave Creek

Bring your documents for secure shredding, and while you’re at it, drop off your household items, gently used clothing, and books for recycling.

Protecting your privacy by destroying sensitive documents like old tax returns and financial records is highly recommended to protect you from ID theft. Shredding all
documents is super easy at our drive-through event.

Our recycling partners will be on-site to collect other items like gently used clothing and
books.

  • Limit 10 boxes of paper per car for shredding, suggested $5 donation per
    box.
  • No limit on gently used clothing, small household items or books.
  • $5 per box can be paid in cash, check or shelf-stable food/hygiene/paper
    products.
  • Please bring your documents in boxes that can be recycled – we cannot return
plastic tubs or other containers. Trash bags can be accepted.
  • We will accept: hard drives for secure destruction.
  • We cannot accept:  computers, printers, tires, paint, furniture, batteries, TVs, or construction/household/landscape trash.
  • This is a drive-through event – please stay in your vehicle. Volunteers will unload your documents and donations for you.
  • Hard drives will be destroyed on-site by Tech 4 Life Computers

Gently used clothing and small household items will be recycled by Goldmine Thrift store in Cave Creek. All books will be reread by friends of the Desert Foothills Library and North Valley Junk will haul away all of your cardboard and those pesky Amazon boxes! Tech4Life Computers will safely destroy computer hard drives.
