Volunteer With Us!

You can make a big difference—right here in your own community.

At Foothills Food Bank, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. We simply couldn’t serve our neighbors without you! Whether you want to give back, meet new people, or gain work experience, there’s a place here for you.

Volunteer Opportunities

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, all volunteer positions are currently filled (and what a wonderful problem to have)! Our volunteer signup form will be posted here when we have openings.

Ways You Can Support the Food Bank

  • Follow and Share – Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram — comment on our activities and share our posts to help spread the word.

  • Host a food driveRally your friends, neighbors, or coworkers to collect food and keep our shelves stocked.

  • Support our holiday project – Join the Good Neighbor Holiday Project (formerly Adopt-a-Family) and bring joy to thousands of neighbors during the holiday season. This project is currently collecting toys, gift cards, and volunteers to support.

  • Lead a class or activity – Share your talents by teaching a skill, hosting a workshop, or providing entertainment at a community celebration.

  • Teach practical life skills – Empower others with lessons in financial literacy, resume reviews, interviewing tips, shopping on a budget, or meal prep ideas.
  • Share your professional expertise – Contribute your knowledge as a healthcare worker, attorney, photographer, counselor, educator, tradesperson, or social media expert.
  • Join a movement of good – Use your gifts and passions to strengthen our community and support those in need.

Our community loves to share resources! If none of the Foothills Food Bank ideas work for you,  we encourage you to explore the Desert Foothills Volunteers Hub, a one-stop resource for meaningful volunteer opportunities across our community.

Volunteer Interest

I’m still interested in volunteering. Let me know when there are openings.

FAQs

How old do I need to be to volunteer?
Volunteers ages 14 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Solo volunteers must be at least 15 years old.

Do I have to work every week?
Most volunteers commit to one day a week, usually for about 3-4 hours.

What if I can’t commit weekly?
That’s okay! We love having trained substitutes. Just let us know your schedule.

Can I get food for my family if I volunteer?
Yes, if you live in our service area and are registered as a guest. All guests follow the same guidelines.

What should I wear to volunteer in the warehouse?
Dress comfortably! Wear closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy.

Let’s do something great—together.

Need Community Service Hours?

We’d love to have you join us!

If you’re earning hours for school, a club, or another program, we’ll work with your schedule and match you with opportunities that support the Food Bank’s mission.

Please note: Volunteers ages 14 and under must be accompanied by a parent or adult, and both need to complete a volunteer application. Once we receive both signed applications, we’ll reach out and get you scheduled as soon as possible.

We can’t wait to meet you—and we’re so thankful for your help!
