Empty Bowls event raises more than $20,000 on World Hunger Day

The Foothills Food Bank, in conjunction with the Sonoran Arts League, raised more than $20,000 at its’ 22nd Annual Empty Bowls art auction and bowl sale held on October 15th at Harold’s Corral in Cave Creek.

Funds raised will help support the mission of the Foothills Food Bank which is to provide food, referral information and financial assistance to individuals and families in need within our service area.

The event kicked off with an online art auction and culminated at Harold’s Corral where supporters enjoyed lunch, bid on art and purchased their bowls donated by members and friends of the Sonoran Arts League, a pivotal partner of the project.

This year’s event added a unique aspect as members of the Arizona Woodturners Association created and donated wooden bowls to support the fundraiser.

Thanks to the community for their support, to those who purchased art and to our volunteers and community partners who without then, the event would not be possible.  Those partners include Harold’s Corral; Tech 4 Life Computers & Websites; Arizona Woodturners Association; Sonoran Arts League and leadership provided by Pam DiPietro and Carole Perry.
